BLAKE PANTHERA
[/right]
``the basics
Birth Name;; Blake Panthera
Nicknames;; n/a
Gender;; Female
Age;; 17
Race;; Veriter
Alliance;; State of the Dream, but her alliance is indefinite
``the description
Hair;; Her hair is kept quite untidy and disheveled, and only just reaches her shoulders. It is choppy and a dark tone of blonde. It is not unkept out of laziness or disregard for appearance, it is unkept because she lacks the capability of making herself look fancy. You sort of have to be able to see to be able to make yourself look good. As a leopard, she is the typical creamy golden colour with lots of spots covering her pelt. Facially, Blake has an unusual amount of black around her eyes, giving her a bit of a "mask". It emphasizes her eyes in a very eerie way.
Eyes;; Her eyes are an unusual shade of green and very catlike in appearance. They do lack the sharp alertness that is present in the feline eyes, though, and are slightly glazed over. Her eyes look quite dead and vacant most of the time. Blake is blind and it is very evident. When in her animal form, her eyes are actually not much different, except for the shape and size.
Weight;; 119 lbs (human) 145 lbs (leopard)
Height;; 5'5" (human) 32" (leopard)
Build;; Not lithe, but not muscular or large. She is somewhere in between the two, but there is no denying her impeccable skill at climbing. The muscles in her arms and legs are very strong and as a human she can climb almost as well as she can while she is a leopard. As a big cat, she is similarly average when it comes to build, and her strong limb muscles are still prominent. Climbing is most certainly her strong suite, but she can achieve great speeds as well, using her powerful legs.
Skin Color;; Blake's skin is naturally tanned looking. It isn't incredibly dark, but she isn't pale.
Apparel;; She isn't fussy about what she wears. Most of her clothing is ragged and torn from all her time spent outside and climbing trees. Her typical clothing consists of a black t shirt, some sort of jacket if it is cold, and some shorts. She doesn't feel the cold as brutally as other people so she can make do with very little clothing. If is was socially acceptable, Blake probably wouldn't wear anything at all.
Extra;; She has a necklace with the tooth of her father attached to it. He was a tiger, and the fang is big and menacing looking. It is just for sentimental value and has no other purpose.
``the secrets
Personality;; Blake is not a very socially experienced person, and that aspect of her can be misinterpreted as rudeness or stupidity. In fact, she is a very intelligent person, she just isn't used to communicating with others. A lot of the time she will stay in her leopard form for days on end, just because she enjoys the solitude. Despite this introversion, she does better when living in a large group because of her dependance. She hates to admit it, but she wouldn't do well living on her own because of her handicap. Blindness is something she has learnt to live around, and the loss of one sense really amplifies the others (especially her superb sense of smell), but she still can't rely fully on herself.
This feline Veriter is unfortunate enough to have lost her sight while she was a child, she doesn't actually recall how she lost it, but she did. This handicap has to be treated delicately by those around her. If you make a fuss over it and treat her like she is incapable of standing on her own two, or four, feet, then she will respond with furiousness. If you completely ignore it, however, then she will feel neglected and as if she is expected to meet the standards of a person with perfect vision. To stay on her good side, you have to regard her sightlessness without making too much of a fuss. Blake can be very difficult to keep happy, as a teenager. She can be melodramatic but when she does go through phases of anger or sadness that don't seem to be severe, they wear off very quickly. There is a big difference between her hormonal grumpiness to her genuine depression or anxiety.
She is fiercely rebellious and if she gets told to do something, she might just end up doing the exact opposite just to piss somebody off. She hasn't got a very set-in-stone idea of where her alliance really falls in terms of Dream or Nightmare, and only remains quite happily in the State of the Dream because this is where her father served devotedly before his death. Blake is very bitter and will shut people out for emotional security. She is afraid of bonding with anyone or forming happy relationships, out of the fear of being hurt. The only person who ever got close to her was her father. The loss of him scarred her, and he had died just as she was beginning to creep out of her shell. When he was killed, it was a massive shock to her, and she ran right back behind the safety of her anti social boundary.
Blake is a very protective creature, though. If you were to get close to her and gain her trust, she would be loyal to you forever. She gets very, very attached to the ones she loved and would gladly take a thousand bullets for any of them. It is hard for her to respond positively to any approach at first, but if you did happen to get along with her well enough, then you can sleep at night knowing that you have a friend that won't let you down. Unfortunately for Blake, she tends to expect the same love and powerful devotion to be mutual from anyone she befriends, and these high standards that she expects to be met are quite unrealistic. This can lead to disappointment on her behalf.
In all, Blake is a very rebellious, short-tempered and blunt person on the outside, but inside she is just a loyal and protective cat with the tendency to grow powerful bonds with her friends. If they can get close to her, that is, for getting close to her is a rough task in itself!
History;; Her father's name was Riley Panthera, his name was inherited from his father before him - who was a leopard just like Blake. Riley was a tiger, though, and a fearsome one at that. He was one of the State of the Dream's finest warriors, and an even finer father to his shy and socially awkward daughter. Blake had trouble making friends and felt like an outcast because of her handicap, but with her father's support she was more confident and this confidence grew. Steadily, but certainly. Her mother passed away when she was younger, Blake doesn't know how she died, but it isn't a big mystery and was probably due to a disease.
One night, when Blake was nine years old, her father went out to battle and never came back. That was the night that changed her. That scarred her. That shaped her. That dragged her down back to square one when it came to her confidence in herself. She shut everyone out and wouldn't say a word to anyone for about a month, and after that she would only speak to a counselor. Now, she is a bit more open, but still anxious and nervy.
